yeah it was looking good back then with the match v roddick then the performace in the wimby mixed dubs, then such a bad injury to strike. i guess such is life.

So Alex plays American Roman Borvanov, who beat Scott Lipsky in final quallies. He is currently 428 in the world and been as high as 395 in Feb. Has made one challenger semi, but not futures finals. Appears to slightly lean to better doubles player. Great draw, but bet Borvanov is thinking same for him over other potential draws.
i am hoping Borvanov is happy with his weeks work and has already booked his flight home :)
you have got to assume that Alex should be able to cope with him in the opening round. losing to smeets is one thing, but losing this would be a real low point.
should have auck's dubns result soon.

the webiste isnt listing the dubs matches in yesterdays OP now tho, and no results out that i can find so maybe they delayed them?
Not strictly true: both the .pdf & the "real time" doubles draw sheets on the site show the Ratiwatana twins as having seen off the Czech third seeds, Pala & Skoch, in straight sets, 4 & 2, in the first match on Court 1 today. They will be a handful in the other half of the draw... Since theirs is the only doubles result showing, I assume yesterday's scheduled matches were delayed for some reason.
trying to look at the stats, in the 3rd set it seemed comfy for boggo, he won 100% on his 1st serve and only dropped 3 points on his 2nd serve. Whilst he won almost 50% on romans serve and took the set with 2 breaks.

Good win for Alex, and although he should be beating this kind of player in straight sets, I'll take any win for him at the moment, and winning a close match like this should be good for his confidence, especially as he looked very dominant in the 3rd set, which has let him down in the past
