I wonder what the odda are on Andy making it to Shanghai: I reckon its doable if he wins and does well in Madrid and Paris plus gets a good fifth result either here in Moscow or in Basel.
I'm not sure about the wisdom of playing in Basel though. If he does play that week, that will make 5 consecutive weeks of tournaments which is not what the Dr would order when you are returning from injury....
Anyway, if he stays healthy he shoul dhave a good week this week, there is nobody he can't beat......
Andy isn't playing Basel, he has entered St Petersburg that week. So Moscow-Madrid-St Petersburg-Paris, after playing Metz last week, 5 weeks in a row.
Reckon they think he needs the match practice? Or just trying to get the ranking as high as possible for the AO seedings?
Anyway, I hope he wins today, but I won't be too disappointed if he goes out in the quarters here - I don't want him worn out before Madrid Masters. A much more important tournament.
Indeed better than nothing. I was just finding that one for myself, and Andy went from 15-40 on his serve to holding it while I wasn't looking! - phew!
