He wouldn't have got a seeding anyway surely Madeline. It's done on latest ranking when the draw is made. The draw will be made at the weekend so the ranking will be last weeks, with Andy at 18th.

Roddick has withdrawn from Madrid. If just one more player ranked above our Andy this week withdraws, he will be seeded after all. . . I haven't heard about anybody else likely to withdraw though. Hewitt has, but he was behind Andy.

Being number 15/16 seed means he is very likely to play Nadal or Fed 3rd round. Actually a match against Rafa with it being Rafa's first tourny for a while could be a good chance for Andy.

Karlovic, Ferrero and Mathieu all won behind Andy, but only Haas, ahead, advances.
