i think he will struggle to get a DE to the AO now, but hopfully he can end the year in a decent position in the low 100's, and as he has few points to defend at the start of the new year make a decent assult on the top 100.

Weren't we saying this last year? cry

Exactly - In my opinion Boggo looked to really be on track to finally

crack Top 100 until he split with Rapheal...all been downhill since then. Do we know now why that happened? Was it just to get in with the LTA crowd?

The split with Raphael happened for a number of reasons....Mike has a young family and things were becoming difficult for him to be able to be off around the world all year round....plus the LTA approached Boggo and there was the offer of having Peter Lundgren as a coach which isn't something that you turn down !

Again Alex has been really unlucky with injuries and that's messed up the season.....up until July it had been a pretty good year....two challenger titles and rd3 of an ATP ! Then he's basically lost 3 months due to injury and that was crucial time as he had nothing to defend in that period....now it's obviously going to take a while to regain top form, he's got a lot to defend this autumn and these european indoor fields are always tough....I think it's quite a good move to go for the US indoor challengers instead...the fields in Bratislava and Ukraine are so ludicrously strong that the odds are going to be against Boggo reaching latter stages and picking up big pts in either.

Seagull yes we did say the same last year (ever the optmist), but then Alex was defending a lot of points at the start of the year, winning bergamo and wrexham in 06, this year he didnt win anyhting so has no big points at the start of the year, i hould have made my thinking a bit clearer in my earlier post.

also a little bit more info alex has a bad cold at the moment, which may have affected his game here. i guess colds are part of the trade when u travel on planes etc so often so they get more used to them than us, but then they have to be more careful in what medicne they take, i dont think they can even use lemsip max! (although normal lemsip is ok)

Thanks for that Count... I still have high hopes for Alex it just seems to be a long time for his obvious potential to turn into something more tangible.

yeah, luck has not been with the bogman (although in sport u make ur own luck as well, i think) but i really hope he can pull his obvious ability onto a consistent level,

i dont think alex will have 1 break through match that will then turn him around to be a top player, it will just be a gradual rise from him, this year he tried a lot of atp's, whlst it didnt pay off hopefully he learned from the experince.

btw how the ol'moonwalker doing for you? still scoring?

Gills up at your gorund on 18th Nov, i wonder what out away score will be then.

we should have a new manager in place soon which may help, but traditonaly gills have always been bad away.

Tennis!  biggrin

Bloomfield
-Lacko d. Borvanov-Thomas 6/1 6/7(5) 10-6
Will play Jamie Delgado/Gilles Muller on Thursday

Faurel who stopped Richard in qualifying, today took out the no 4 seed Devilder 6-1 6-4 - makes Richards 3 sets and a TB look quite respectable.
Luggasy the beaten qualifying no 1 was given a LL and is now thro to the 2nd round.
