Excellent from Katie! We wait 14 years for a WTA quarter-finalist and then two come along in a couple of weeks! Tomorrow will be tough though. Olga Govortsova has made a phenomenal leap up the rankings from 334 at the start of the year to 55. During 2007 she has defeated British players 5 times out of 5 (Sarah twice, Amanda, Karen and Naomi) - hopefully time for revenge.

but it also says

Goodness I didn't realise the WTA were trialing 7 set matches.

Shame that Katie lost but it's a respectible score against the 3rd seed.

Good week for Katie. A step up. Hopefulyl she can take this confidence into the 2 25ks in the UK now and maybe win them. I think she'll have a tough challenge from Naomi in both though.
