We should start a petition to get him a WC into a british futures even main draw - otherwise he'll be 70 by the time he qualifies! Maybe Jersey or something where he's likely to meet the cleaner's son in the first round.
Talking of Rob Dee reminds me of this note from the Telegraph that I came across a couple of days ago re Eastbourne 2006:
"There was a shock for Justine Henin-Hardenne during a practice session in Eastbourne while she prepared for the Championships. The Belgian world No 5 hit with Adam Lownsbrough, a British no-hoper who is barely up to county standard. Henin-Hardenne looked surprised as the Briton, who has never won more than five games during his 41 consecutive defeats on the ITF circuit and has lost 6-0, 6-0 on nine occasions, shanked the ball all over Devonshire Park."
Wonderful

We should try and organise a Brit cult hero round robin tournament involving Dee, Lownsbrough, Law and this new guy Girard to see who is the champ of chumps!
R Dee def A Law 0-6 0-6 6-0 6-0 7-6(13) A Lownsborough def Girard 0-6 0-5 ret
Rnd 2 :
Girard (After intense medical treatment) def A Law 7-6(7) 0-6 7-5 0-6 6-0 R Dee def A Lownsborough 6-1 6-1 0-5 ret (Adam fainted after winning 5 games on the bounce)
Final Girard def R Dee w/o
(Robert had to leave to sign in for Sudan F1 qualies so missed the final)
Doubles :
R Dee / A Lownsborough def A Law / Girard 7-6(1) 7-5 4-6 6-7(20) 7-5 after 4 hours and 12 minutes.

LMAO Absolutely classic !
Question is, how on earth did Lownsbrough manage to get hitting with her in the first place !
Another rubbish draw for Slabba Ouanna has just won a 15K in France without dropping a set plus he's ranked over 200 places higher at 398...have 2 hope for a shock upset
Quality website for this tourney though...gives live scores !

Is this kind? Or necessary? I rather admire people who persevere despite the fact that they may never receive rewards. . . . and I don't think people should be mocked for lack of success. . . .
I think you'll find that all of this is done good-naturedly and we all have a great respect and large amount of affection for these players who as you say persevere in their dreams. Yes we mock them but I believe I speak for us all when I say that it's all in good fun and not meant to offend.

Yes, it's all good fun, and I imagine we're a lot nicer to them than the other players. I think Guillaume might even have started to play for GB because he knew we'd actually take an interest!
