Dont think you can be too critical of Andy, it's a hiding to nothing and he's got no back up, we dont belong at world group level yet.

Need to get someone to support him and at least have a chance of winning a singles match if we expect him to mess around with his schedule.

I dont think he's necessarily saying he is injured, just that he thinks playing this match will increase his chance of getting injured.

Bit unfair on the others who have had to go over there on a fool's errand, but will be good experience, and though I think that we'll lose 5-0 they might put up a better fight than some expect.

Is LTA flies out rackets for red-faced Bogdanovic (see http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/tennis/ / http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/sport/tennis/article3285457.ece ) conclusive proof that members of the press read this forum avidly and then twist what's been put there? bleh

Unfortunately, it doesn't mention our hero's role in the story, which might have improved it a little bit. cry

it makes it sound like a lot worse tho, it was only 2 new racquets (a slew which makes it sound like loads), so i am sure he had enough to play. The new ones were delivered over xmas so alex hadnt been able to pick them up (he hasnt been home since the shewsbury tie - quite a while now!) and i think he really just wanted to use some new ones, probably for sponsorship reasons as its going to be all over the TV, i guess by now the one has has been using are starting to look quite beat up.

That's a terrible omission. Mention of the Count would turn a negative article into one of those stories that warm the heart, and help us all to realise that there is still kindness, heroism and gallantry in our fellow man. wink.gif

I submitted a comment to the Mail article basically saying "what a lot of rubbish" - be interesting to see if gets past the censors.
