Aucks over Hutch is strange....but Aucks perhaps was asked and declined ?
Aucks isn't son of the chief coach!
But of course enough sarcasm, you're quite right, he may have declined as it seems that to be included only as a hitter means at least 3 weeks out of the tennis calendar. I thought that Jamie D hanging around in South America knew something but I was obviously wrong.
dont always the no2's play the no'1 on day 1 so it possibly sets it up for the big finally (hmm thats not spelt right, its those mods again i tell ya).

Personally, I wouldn't complain if Boggo was given the live rubber even now as things stand. I think Baker is marginally in front, but Boggo has shown in the past that he can live with top players so I don't really mind either of them playing. Unlikely either will get even a set anyway.

1 thing; why would boggo need a wc for the qualies, i know his ranking is low but i would have thought it would have been high enough to make the cut anyway. perhaps they are keepign the spot open and if boggo's ranking gets in could pass the wc on to baker.

It seems JL was talking rubbish as usual, even about the players on his own team!
Both Jamies are in VdM qualifying (see separate thread that I'm about to set up) but there's no sign of Boggo, and as mentioned previously, Andy didn't take up the offer of a WC.

".......................Britain will set up a training camp in Viņa del Mar a week before the tie, although Andy Murray may not join them until later. "It's a different matter for the younger players in the team," said Lloyd. "I can push them a bit and if they say no they might not be in the team.
"I've said to Andy that I would like to see him in Chile and he's going to think about it. It would be great if he did come for some practice matches and training but, if he doesn't, Andy's a big enough pro to show up in Buenos Aires on the Sunday in good shape."
