It is immediately clear that Boggo is so much more talented than Baker.
Yes, Wolf, we all agree on the 'talented' aspect, but it's what one does with that talent that really counts. Jamie looks to be outplayed, but takes 7 games off a world top-ten player; Alex looks as though he has the right to be on the same court as his opponent (at least for a set), but manages just 5 games from the world no. 31. No wonder John Lloyd seemed set to name Jamie, rather than Alex, alongside Andy Murray.
i think boggo gave calleri a game in the 1st set and forced him to raise it. calleir played some very strong tennis in the last 2 sets with some big hitting. alex just couldnt raise his, then under presuure started missing too many 1st serves as he went for too much
i dont believe nalby ever felt that threatned by baker so didnt need to raise his game.

Not enough free points on his serve from Boggo. Agree with DJ, how Alex only won 5 games is a msytery, you just can't put down what is wrong with his game at times, that is why everyone puts it down to the mental side. Someone can put an article on the site..
Managed to watch some of both matches but sadly not all. With Baker you felt there was a chance however slim. With Boggo you just knew it was never a possibilty. I can't get a ball over a net, so won't criticise Bogo. But I will give Baker a big thumbs up, many players ranked way above him have had the same sort of scorlines against Bandy.

Is everyone forgetting there was a player the other side of the net? Nalbandian looked below par against Baker, in fact afterwards he said that because he was playing a lower ranked player he 'lost focus' in sets 2 and 3, while Calleri played extremely well against Boggo serving 12 aces to Boggos nil.
i watched it on webstream yesterday so missed the pre chat, castle is saying its better to go out and lose 1,2,1 but be hitting the ball and commanding to your opponent!! surele y that situation cant happen, ever!
good point btw mjd.

Hutchins and Murray have done very well in the doubles, shame they couldn't convert those set points, but the Argentines came up with those big second serves.
