Robert Lindstedt and Jarkko Nieminen, who advanced after Ross Hutchins retired prior to the start of the match tie-break due to dehydration. Hutchins, who was playing James Auckland, had just won the second set tie-break 6-7(7)
Seems abit strange, surely he could have gone on for another 20 or so points and they had just won the second set. But his health has to come first, am i right in saying he has had problems with this before?
Hutchins suffers from a sweat disorder so loses body fluids really fast at times. I guess that would dehydrate him fairly quickly in long matches in hot atmospheres which I assume is the reason for the retirement.
I hope he is OK. It does seem a strange time for a retirement, just after you have won a set, and you only have to play a CTB, so it looks as if it was quite bad. Best wishes to him.
