That was rather disappointing given he's beaten Lugassy indoors twice, both times in straight sets. I wonder if the exertions of the NCL and subsequent journey played a part in the running of out steam. So all the British guys out in challengers by Tuesday and emphatic defeats for both Baker and Bloomfield.
Without wishing to impugn the professionalism of either player, is it possible that their minds are more focussed on the Davis Cup tie than their current tournaments? It will be interesting to see their performance in the doubles matches.
well blooms is only a hitting partner, and probably last in line for a main berth spot anyway, (i am not sure who would be ahead between baker and boggo at the moment), although if we wrap it up in 2 days i am guessing rich and baker would play the deads.
maybe he just let the match swing away from him, i didnt follow the scores to see how quick it happened, but indoor matches can turn very quickly and games can go by fast.

It's just not happening at the moment for Bloomers, as he shouldn't be getting bagelled on an indoor surface by someone like Lugassy (although he is a decent player). Maybe he should try and step down to futures for a couple of weeks, and play the UK futures, just to get some confidence, some wins and some ranking points back
