Week 37 - Futures F22 (M) - Claremont, CA, USA

Tournament Key : M-FU-USA-22A-2007
Dates : 10 Sep to 16 Sep 2007
Venue : Claremont, CA, USA
Surface : Hard

No one in the MD by a DA.

QD1 : (128 draw !!!!)

SMITH, Jordan (CAN) v WIRE, Richard (GBR) 9

TAM, Norman (USA) v KINSELLA, Jonathan (GBR) 14

I think their draw means that they would not meet in the last round...if they got that far.

Good run for both guys, still can't believe that they will win 4 matches and not earn a single ranking point

5 matches for a point...whats the point.....!

I think on a 128 draw you should get 1 point for qualifying.

I second that idea, but i think its not the atp's problem, i think its the usta's problem. Its a stupid idea for a federation to have 128 qualies field. Can a country have two futures events in 1 week.

Kinsella came through to qualify but Wire fell at the last hurdle.

Not a great draw though for Jonathon against 8th seed Elizondo from Mexico....but at least he will be used to the courts!!

Unfortunately Kinsella lost 6-4 4-6 7-5, but clearly a close match, and he took a set off someone ranked nearly 800 places above him.
