Miles did indeed win, a resounding 6-0, 6-3 He will definately be happy with that, from what i saw he was returning extremely well, probably face ryderstedt next round tho
quality...we'll get to see that Bamford-Skupski match
Given how close Miles' opponent pushed Josh in rd1 last week for Miles to win 0 and 3 is extremely impressive. If he's at his best he can trouble Ryderstedt
Just got in and Kennaugh is looking impressive, serve-volleying effectively...Josh looking frustrated
ok well Josh has just won presumably in straight sets...
he went 30-0 up in that final service game..then sloppy forehand and backhand errors off short balls plus Kennaugh chip-charged put him at 30-40...........Kennaugh chip-charged a 2nd serve again but this time Goodall made the pass...another chip-charge went long from K and Josh sealed it with an ace
he looked quite good, serving well but missed some easy balls in the games I saw....Kennaugh was getting outhit from the back, he was mainly scrambling, looking to counter-attack and hit a few good winners on the run. He was looking to get to the net as much as poss, serve-volleying and coming in on every 2nd serve...did succeed in rushing Josh at times but I guess he had too much power in the end
Until this match, I'd never realised that Skupski was actually left handed
Can only just see 1 of the players in the corner of the screen, but I think the first set has just ended, as they only played 1 game, and then disappeared again (Skupski was serving, and looked to be winning more of the points, so there is a chance he has won the first set)
I think Skupski has broken, and then held serve after facing a couple of break points, so looks to be up a break in the second (but Skupski came to the net on the last point and went out of the camera range)
Of all tyrannies a tyranny exercised for the good of its victim may be the most oppressive.... those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience
You can only see one of the players, and half of their side of the court, and when they are both trying to attack the net, it is difficult to tell how the point finishes
I think Skupski is a set and a break up, as he appeared to win the game which ended the set (or looked like it did, as they only played one before having another break), and he definately broke at the start of the second set, and seems to have held each time afterwards
The match has ended... unfortunately you couldn't see how the last point ended so I don't know for certain who has won... the website should update it soon though
