i have a little more info:

his back went bad during the newport match. he then aggretvated it by trying to play some more, when really he should have just taken a break (i think cause he was at atp's he felt pressure that he wouldnt have a chllengers) he was starting to get better, esp with the help of the physio that arrvied with murray in montreal, and was almost better for bronx (where he almost won the match, only to lose in 3 sets) unfortunately he then picked up a 2nd injury, pulling a rib muscle, which was the problem at the usoq! bit of poor luck after over the summer for alex.

as far as i know he hasnt decided yet on bejing, i guess his concern is that it is a hell of a long way to travel if he wont be able to properly compete, so will be waiting a little longer before finalising his decision.

i personaly feel that he is probably better resting up in the uk and making sure he is fully fit for the DC tie and the indoor season (where he should be playing a series of challengers around euorpe)
