Of all tyrannies a tyranny exercised for the good of its victim may be the most oppressive.... those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience
Just incase anyone is interested, Delgo & Scherrer won this match, 7-6(4) 6-3 and will play Gonzalez & Vagnozzi(ARG/ITA) in the semi-final.
And they beat them, too! Bit tight, though: 5-7 7-6(7) [10-4] Still, they seem to be gelling, so onwards & upwards: the Italian second seeds, Cipolla & Pedrini, in tomorrow's final...
They could well have saved a match point or 2 there, so that makes the result look even better.
Hope he can take the title tomorrow and try to return to the top 100, as this run on the challenger circuit has been profitable for him (Still undecided whether I think Auckland should play challengers for the rest of the year to try and build up his ranking or play the weaker ATP's in Asia)
Egg on face time for me, sorry: I got that score from the Como site yesterday evening & it definitely showed Delgo & Scherry as the winners of the SF or I wouldn't have reported it! Have just checked the ATP site, expecting to see the result of the final, only to see that the Italians were actually the winners, a fact now confirmed by the tournament site. I immediately came on here to correct my mistake, but I see I've been beaten to it. I am so disappointed!
