Funny you should say that, Mr B.  This story, flimsy though it may appear, is allegedly an exclusive from the sports section of today's London Lite:

Blake: You Brits will miss Henman when he goes
That's quite something - particularly since I don't get the impression that Blakey is easily impressed!


As for whether Tim could carry on if he got a good run at the USO, maybe he wanted to wait until after the draw to see what chance he had and that's why the press conference was today.

surprisingly enough Tim confirmed what the papers have been saying for 6 days. I HATE the way papers steal the players right to announce it themselves and speculate and tell us the story rendering the actual press conference completely pointless!

Watched the PC, i think Tim said it with attitude! which i felt he was right to do considering the negativity he gets from the press. i will certainly miss Tim, he certainly kept the Brit audiences on the edge of their seats at Wimbledon. i hope he doesnt give up tennis completely, i hope he plays on the Senior Tour. also, i didnt know his wife was expecting another child!

watched most of it too (missed a bit as the pc went down) but my god how thick are the reporters, ask a question, get an answer, ask the same question again! lol

Hi

Writing from my hols in Gran Canaria.
Was not surprised by Henmans news.
He has had a fantastic career for British Tennis.
Why should he carry on with his ranking slipping
and if he can´t reach the same high standards
that he always set himself.

He will be sorely missed by us genuine British
fans who have cheered him on over the years.
Now we only have Murray up there and who
knows when we will get 1 or 2 more up there
in the top 50.

So farewell Timbo

Thanks for the many highs and even exciting lows throughout your career Tim.. All the memories of watching you and cheering you on every event you were in. Edge of the seat stuff and hardly ever a dull match. I feel a bit sad inside I never saw him live.

Best ever and most sucessful British tennis player since the great Fred, it's a real shame he couldn't win a Slam in his career have contributed a lot to British tennis in the just over the past decade or so.. Hopefully he'll stay in tennis in 1 form or another as I'm sure he will. Wimbledon will not be the same without him next year or any other event infact.. 1st year next year that there will be no Tim on Tour cry

Wish him good luck on his future endeavours. Won't be same without you.
