Naomi loses 67(1) 63 36. cry.gifcry.gif

Still an excellent effort against someone so much higher than her and now she can go to the US open qualies with a bit of confidence and having found the form that seemed distant last week. Hopefully she gets a good draw and I see no reason why she doesn't have a fair chance of qualifying.

Poutchek won 7-6 3-3 6-3 cry.gif

Disappointing that Cavaday lost. I was glued to SB and it was a close match. However, i hope Naomi will take the positives from this match, i mean she gave a top 100 player a real fright and although Naomi had the momentum after winning the second set, i think she got tired towards the end of the match.

I am glad that Naomi took the WC because these matches would help her to get match fit for the USQ which i think she got a chance to qualify but that depends on the draw. also, she still remains as our greatest prospect, because she is a genuine canditate to be in the top 100, if she can give Poutchek a close match then i see no reason why she can't keep this up and get into the top 150 at least for this year.
