Naomi plays Italy's Nathalie Vierin in the 2nd qualifying round tomorrow. Vierin won in 3 sets today against Cravero of Argentina. The Italian is currently ranked 190 but has been as high as 103. Her best performances have come on slow surfaces, she reached the quarters of WTA Bogota in February and the last 16 of Rome in May after getting in as a lucky loser

There are no seeds left in naomi's quarter as vakulenko and Meusburger have both withdrawn she may have a chance here

Well, its an opportunity for her to show what she's made of. I hope she does qualify. If she does, then we know she capable of playing at the top level, so i rather see her gain points in a WTA event than play in the USQ.

yeah it's a really good chance for her, this has really opened up....not going to get many better chances to qualify for a tier 2 !!!

Her match against Vierin today will be on court at around 6pm GMT

It's very winnable but Naomi needs to find the level she was playing at in the 2nd set yesterday against Obziler, being aggressive and taking the ball on. First set, she was too passive and was getting outrallied.

Poutchek (80) up  next has been as high as 55 in the world so could prove difficult bt on this form looks like Naomi has a decent chance
