Girls: Junior Nationals.

Much has been posted already about the boys event but the girls tourney looks set to be equally intriguing and wide open.

Naomi Broady, Jade Windley, Jocelyn Rae, Katharina Brown, Yasmin Clarke, Laura Slater, Steph Cornish, Olivia Howlett, Tara Moore etc will all be competing

Anyone know whether Jade Curtis will be playing this ?  I guess Amanda Elliott is still injured which is a real shame and also our top two, Naomi Cavaday and Anna Fitzpatrick are in North America

Tara's form has been superb recently and she can beat any of those girls on her day but does she have the consistency atm to win this. Naomi's game is very serve-dominated and that could prove a problem on the clay. Jade W and Kathi Brown were superb earlier in the year but seem to have gone off the boil a little lately....Yasmin's had some great wins and will be one of the favs surely

Thoughts ?

It's held in Bournemouth every year, there are ATP standard clay-courts down there....

I'm surprised it's not held on medium-paced hard courts

Starts next week I think

Here you go!

The Rens should be having wild cards into this.

Tara should win this comfortably. She is the best player out there, is in good form and she can play on these kinds of surfaces.

Thank you! Although I am not the greatest...

I see that Johanna Konta, who plays for Australia, is playing the 18s. hmm.gif Any idea if she is planning to represent us? I remember seeing 'GBR' next to her name in some acceptance list...

I don't think that that is always the case. Marc Baghdadi represents France but he played the Nationals last year.

But I hope that Konta will play for us. She's 1991 born but is ITF top 50, which is very impressive.
