Nice chance for Auckland to qualify here, as Monroe isn't the best player and someone that he has a chance of beating
Interesting to see who James ends up playing with this week. I guess it will be Huss, as he isn't playing Washington, and this will be a good chance for them to get some wins together before New Haven and US Open when I guess they will play ATP events again
Ross Hutchins will probably be here as well, based on the fact he hasn't turned up anywhere else
scoreline still reads as a 5 set match so will confirm later
The draw sheet (as opposed to the results page) reads 6-4 6-7(3) [10-8] to Ianni & Okun. Wonder if they'll follow B&S's example & go their separate ways. Maybe Aucks & Stretch could contemplate giving it a go in that case...
* for Hutch & Parrott tonight & Tin Pan & Bupathi against Hanley & Ullyett (4) ...
This is a match that they should have won with ease, as Ianni and Okun aren't really top doubles players.
I guess they may give it until the US Open to see what happens, as it would be pointless to go into a grand slam with a new partner, but if results don't start to improve I'd expect these two to split up as well
Pity they couldn't do it again yesterday, extend their run against the third seeds, de Voest & Fisher, to whom, sadly, they lost 3 & 4, & reach the final. Still, not a bad run for a scratch pairing. Well done, Ross - & best of luck in your next tournament, wherever that may be!
* I fancy the unseeded Kuznetsov & Young to take the title. They've looked dangerous from the word go...
