Jamie, as I'm sure you know by now, won last night Meaning he currently has 176 points and is at 222 in the rankings (I think! three people have 176 points and I think I've gotten the system for separating them right but I could be wrong.) and has smashed his old career best . So I will reward him with a complete What If? for the rest of the tournament....
What if...Jamie were to lose in the semis? He'd have 176 points. He could overtake nobody. He could be overtaken by Stakhovsky (f - one match), Dorsch (f - one match), Suzuki (w - two matches) and Nishikori (f - two matches). worst case: 226 (+28) best case: 222 (+32)
What if...Jamie were to lose in the final? He'd have 190 points. He would definitely overtake Dustov, Recouderc, Minar, Levy, Lugassy, Dabul, Jeanpierre, Portas, Bopanna, Smeets, Ruiz-Cadenas and Stadler. He could be overtaken by Stakhovsky (w - two matches), Dorsch (w - two matches), and Nishikori (f - two matches). worst case: 213 (+ 41) best case: 210 (+44)
What if...Jamie were to win the whole tournament? We'd have a virtual party. He'd have 207 points. He would definitely overtake Dustov, Recouderc, Minar, Levy, Lugassy, Dabul, Jeanpierre, Portas, Bopanna, Smeets, Ruiz-Cadenas, Stadler, Cipolla, Trujillo-Soler, Crivoi, Przysiezny, Gimeno-Traver, Wessels, Vagnozzi, Daniel, Bachinger, Karanusic, Mayer and Vinciguerra. He could overtake: Golubev (out before f - next match) and Bogomolv Jr. (out before f - next match). He could be overtaken by Nishikori (f - two matches). worst case: 199 (+55) best case: 196 (+58)
So Jamie has guaranteed himself a new career high and has a chance of breaking the top 200.

Can you explain to me why Jamie goes ahead of Dustov? (I know it's mandatory points then no. of tournaments but what does Jamie's 0 for Wimbledon mean?) Thanks.

hmm - no - you're dead right: Dustov ahead of Jamie and Jamie at 223.. Not sure what I was thinking. post changed in a sec. Dudtov had 15 last week, didn't play and defends one. Jamie also had 15, also defends one and played this week, so it's 15 to Jamie, 14 to Dustov.
