Sure enough, a top NCAA player at GA. It looks like Tim really could have problems with his serve....I still fancy Tim in straights though. John has never played anyone in the same class as Tim and with the tennis smarts of Tim. No wonder the boy is getting WCs though, looks like he did all four years at GA and was great to be around.
Isner won the title in Lexington by beating Wilson in three close sets: 6-7, 6-3, 6-4. I am sure he won't be playing Monday. He'll have a travel day etc.
Isner gets the "Player Profile of the week" on Stevegtennis:
Player Profile 22-year-old American, John Isner, doesn't have much pro experience. He only played in his first pro event in 2003, playing in just 3 matches that year. After just playing 1 match in 2004, he went 7-4 in 2005. But in his second event last year, he reached the finals at USA F14. Even with that his 2006 record was just 5-4. Instead, he's taken the college route, playing at the University of Georgia where he was named an all-American in both singles and doubles in both his sophomore and junior year. He finished his career with a 143-28 record and spent a total of 9 weeks at the #1 ranked player in college tennis. So now, with his college career at an end, he made his official pro debut in June and wasted no time, capturing his first pro title at USA F14. He even made an appearance at the ATP event in Newport, pushing Dick Norman to a first set tie-break before losing in the first round. After a very close loss last week to Brendan Evans in the first round of the Aptos challenger, in just his 4th event of the year, Isner took his second title, this time at the Lexington challenger. That gets him an amazing 329 spot jump in the rankings this week to #416. With all that college experience, John Isner might be in a position to just skip a few levels and rise up the rankings very quickly. He will be one to watch.
Its always a shame when someone gets injured, but for some reason it makes it a little better when your waiting for your favourite players to take to court. Booray are just 1 match away and A-Bog follows
Bozo is a set up on Capdeville, and serving like a God by the looks of things at the moment, so it may not be too long before the Brits take to the court
Klizan is about to beat Economidis. I thought that he would get crushed.
It's strange that how a player who used to stuggle in first rounds of Futures even ten months ago is now winning ATP matches. Our young players should take notice of this.

And he completes the win and makes a lot of people, a lot of money (including me )
This match was seen as being a fix, a bit like Volandri/Andreev from the other week. The fact that $600,000+ was being traded on this match on Betfair is just too unusual for such a minor match, and the betting patterns were just too bizarre, with Klizan still being favourite even after going an early break down, and then Eco-man being 7-1 to win at the end of the first set
Still... Klizan would have given him a close match even if this was a legit match, as he is a talented player and will be top 50 easily.
Bozo appears to have played a shocker of a service game to give Capdeville the break, so it may be another hour or so before the Brits get on

Dodgy stuff. But Klizan will claim it, fix or no fix.
It still beats me how he is getting all these wild cards in the US.
