oh dear things really arnt going well for alex. he is next down to play the qualfiers for the montreal masters. he really doesnt want to play challengers agian, problem is that he just isnt getting any match practice on hard courts, at least he is down to play bronx. i persoanlly think he should have played binghamton too rather than the masters.

i think alex is atp lvl on grass coruts and indoor courts, not on hard yet, and way off on clay.
ok this time round he has had a back injury so we cant fully judge yet, but earlier this year he failed to make any progress on hard atp's either. i really think he should have played at least 2 challengers b4 the uso to try and get back in the winning matches groove and also rasie his ranking again so he has a chnace of making atp's indoors in the autumn, as it is now he will porb be palying challengers in the autumn.

Haase is a decent player....tested Tim in the DC tie but he blows so hot and cold Alex should have had enough to beat him. Robin likes to go for his shots and when they come off its great other than that he can look very ordinary. Always goes for shots early....maybe Alex played into his strengths...just get the ball back deep and Haase runs out of patience and will go for winners when they are not really there...or maybe Alex was just not good enough ?
Bogdanovic is going to lose a good few matches at ATP level because he's playing better players, it'll happen to most. It might take a while but he's got to stick at it rather than go back to challengers, he's good enough. There's a good few players I noticed from looking at drawsheets struggled on the main tour for a bit that totally looked out of their depth but are now starting to win a few matches and creep up the rankings, ie Kristian Pless, Boris Pashanski, Alessio Di Mauro (remember how rubbish Murray made him look at the US Open!) Boggo's never going to take the top 10 by storm but he has the talent to at least make the top 50/75, and the more players we have around that level the better!!!
i agree MBL, i made the suggestion that alex try challengers again cause at the moment he is lacking matches, i guess he couldnt predcit his injury tho and the entry deadlines come and go too far in advance, most of us feel that alex should be a comfortable top 100 player tho.
