Nice draws for Anne & Elena esp Elena....if she wins she will prob play the 9th seed which is much better than the second seed. Nice breaks there unless I am missing something.
Bally! Great to see her playing regularly again. She's clearly still our number one as well as her points have come from about a third of the tournaments our other girls have played!
Nice win for Bally though not the most testing of rd1 matches, Frazier was an unranked 17 year old wildcard. What's her record in the US hard court season been like in previous years ? How well has she done in USO qualies ?...don't think she's reached final round yet, hopefully that can be rectified this summer.
Much tougher match up next, I think Pavlovic will probably get through, she made Felixstowe semis, beating Cavaday in 3 sets
Nice opener for Anne too...should be able to make the quarters but then 3rd seed Abi Spears would be v tough, she's been top 75
Good to see Bally winning again & healthy. She has the game to be top 30 WTA, she just needs to get super fit, work on her speed around the court & technically adjust her forehand to enable her to make more balls but everything else is in place for her to be a regular seed at the slams, she needs a good injury free run of tournaments & really use the rest of this year to get her ranking up & to build up for next year & hit the ground running!! If she does that I can see her top 100 by Feb!!

Bally starts at 11am there time, guess that's 4pm over here
Pavlovic is ranked 282, knocked out a seed in straights in rd1. Until Felixstowe (where she made the semis), she'd had an average 2007, just one 10K final to show for the first 6 months, not much for a top 300 player. Now she's suddenly in form again and can be dangerous. Katie beat her 6-1, 6-4 at Surbiton and Anne beat her 6-4, 6-4 last autumn. Bally should win but will need to up things from her rd1 match
