Week 29 - Futures F12 (M) - Frinton

Entry List.

I would give wild cards to -

Evans
Dyce
Milton
Can't decide between Rice and Slabba. But I'll probably give it to Rice as he hasn't had one since January.

RE: GB F12 - Frinton - Week 28 Of 2007

Wild Cards are Milton & Coupland, dont know the rest!! Milton has had a good week in Felixstowe & Coupland had a good run in the Doubles at Wimbledon took out Rice & Cox, Klein & Jones & lost tough quarter to the winners Trevisan & Lopez With Smethurst, to be honest Coupland & Smethurst should have won the boys doubles!! Coupland is fit again after picking up a virus in Tunisia in March, he is serving big & I think he can have a big week in Frinton!! His game is perfect for grass!!!!

Actually Dyce may not get the wild card even though he won a round this week. Normally the policy with the Juniors is that they get only one wild card in the two Futures blocks.

No  I dont think Dyce will get the wild card, apart from the 2 I said it will prob be Evans & possibly Corrie?? playing well, I dont think all the wild cards will go to juniors. Surely Sean Thornley will be in the mix or a wild card as well, for qualies at least.2 have definately gone to the ones I said!

Here it is - http://downloads.lta.org.uk/webservices/TempResults/FrintonMen/msq.pdf

Rice, Evans, Milton and Dyce are missing. Since Coupland has a wild card, it's possible that Evans and/or Dyce will be in Manchester.

Evans, Cox & Rice...possibly Dyce are at the Europeans so I would be surprised if any were around for Frinton or Manchester. Milton & Coupland have definately got wild cards, possibly Smethurst again or he may be in Manchester....home event?

Cox told me that he would be doing Manchester, but I haven't been in contact with him this week. The European events start on the 23rd, so they won't have left.

Dyce and Rice aren't doing the European events. I believe that they'll play Futures/Challengers week in and out till December except for the two weeks of the USO. At least Dyce will...

Maybe... I would be surprised if any of them were playing this week except for Rice & Dyce although I think Rice is going to the Euros. Dyce could well be in Frinton or Manchester???

Why is Rice going? confused.gif

Tennis Europe mentions that Evans, Cox, Pauffley and Smethurst are going.

I am not completely sure if Rice is going but I know for doubles reasons he is a favoured option with Evans. If Pauffley is in the team it is as a non travelling reserve, as he has not heard of any nomination!
I could not find any thing regarding British team on tennis europe.

I would love to see Orion Modebe & Marc Beckles do well in the qualies at Frinton, both are great guys & deserve a break. Marc has switched his passport to Barabos in order to get more chances playing futures in Britain, given a kind first match they can shock a few..........I hope!!!
Would be good to see Paul Bishop win a couple matches too.
Giant George Coupland for the title!!!!!!!

I may be missing something but why would switching your passport to Barbados make it easier to play in British futures

Qualies weren't played yesterday. It rained, I guess.

Smethurst and Rice probably have the two remaining wild cards.
