RE: Week 28 - Newport ATP

Where were you a few weeks ago when Jamie beat 2 top 100 players in the space of a week? Funnily enough, don't remember you posting during that period. Hmm, strange.

You're a funny one Jack. I don't think I've ever seen you post anything positive about anything and you only seem to pop up after a bad result. If tennis upsets you so much maybe you should find another sport

First of all John lets have a look at these """Top 100"""" players

Alexander Peya- A jouneyman who focuses mostly on doubles with a career high ranking of 92(currently 108) and it would not of achieved this if it wasnt for one good week in zagreb...lets have a look at his recent playing activity...

Newport   just lost in two easy sets to santoro

Wimbledon  R128

6-4 6-3 3-6 4-6 3-6

Hertogonbosch R32

Quenns

6-3 6-7(5) 3-6

French R128

Poerschach R32

4-6 5-7

Casablanca R32

6-7(7) 4-6

The guy hasnt won a match in over 3 months!!! hmmmmm really top100 credentials

The same can be said for guccione who has just got into top100, probly just wanted a week off before wimbledon.

"Your a funny one John" More like i live in the real world unlike you john who lives in complete dream world, I actually support tennis players like Andy and Jamie and Naomi that are not complete no-hopers like most of the other GB Men. I HAVE NOTHING AGAINST JAMIE AS A PERSON BECAUSE HE IS A NICE GUY he just is never going to be better than top 220 and has reached his peak ranking that he has the ability for

Cool...I still remember Brighton's FA Cup Final like it was yesterday.....we were at a friend's house in Bracknell, Berks going nuts as we really thought Brighton were going to beat Manure.....just seems like yesterday although I think it was 82 or 83. I can't keep up.

Wow good memory (it was 83 and I was there)..showing my age!!

Peya is a great fast surfaces player. This year he has made the quarters of a Tour event, beating Soderling on the way.

Guccione has a game that's taylor made for grass. He took the world number 4 (Kolya isn't at his best on grass but he reached the fourth round, so he can't be rubbish) to five sets the very next week.

And all this considering that grass is Jamie's worst surface...

What you neglect to mention is that Peya was lower ranked than all of those opponents, expect Jamie, so he wasn't necessarily supposed to beat them.

Regardless of your opinion of said players, they are top 100 players and Jamie beat them. And as I said, I didn't see you posting at that time saying what a good win it was. Very quick to critisize, not so quick to give credit.

Also, you support Andy, Jamie and Naomi because they are not complete no hopers? Fair enough, but what are you doing on the Newport ATP thread. Neither Jamie, Andy nor Naomi are playing here last time I checked. So you came on the thread purely to make a negative comment after a bad defeat by Boggo, no doubt you wouldn't have posted at all if he won.
