Some match reports on those quarters:

Pavlovic def. Cavaday 63 64

Irena started off with a couple of double faults, but managed to bring herself back to win her opening service game. It went with serve until Naomi was serving at 3-4 when she was broken and Pavlovic served it out. Naomi started slowly in the second and went down 0-2, but fought back for 2-2. However, Irena was just too strong and managed to hold on for a win. Naomi started complaining to the umpire about something and was clearly put off. She had several chances on Irenas serve, going up 30-0 or 30-15, but Irena would then deliver some big serves at important times and hold, whereas Naomi was struggling with her serve.

Hewson def. South 16 75 64

How? Mel completely dominated in the opening set, really stepping in on Emilys serve, which was poor. She lead 61 42 before being broken and then came a LONG game on Emilys serve. Mel could have broken, but Emily just kept fighting and managed to finally hold and after that Mel could not hit 2 good shots in a row. She hit so many forehands into the net from then on and swiftly went off court for a break after losing the second set. The third was a continuation of the second: Emily just kept getting so many balls back until Mel eventually cracked. She fought back from a break down in the third, but it wasnt enough as Mel was broken at 4-4 and Emily served out for the win.

Silva def. Borwell 26 64 63

there were some long rallies and big serves by Sarah to comfortably take the first set. She seemed to be going well until the second set, where there was an incident where Sarah claimed she wasnt ready as there was a ball behind her which had come over from the other court and she was shouting at the umpire big style. Then, at 4-3 she called for the trainer and received some strapping to her thigh but it didnt seem to impede her too much. The game at 4-4 was another huge game. In the time it took for that one game to be played, around 4 games had been played in the Goodall-Evans match. Silva finally won the game and took the second set. The final set was just as difficult, the opening three games were incredibly long and Sarah made some great shots at important times. However, she also made some poor ones and Nueza held in there and managed to get the victory after Sarah hit a forehand long.
