I hope Henman asks for and gets a Wild Card here and at Cincy....and before you bring up his comments on Wild Cards remember he was out hurt for a few months and also that he did so well in the past esp in Cincy....saying that I wish he would play in say LA & Washington before Montreal too.
Yeah, would be great to see Tim playing here. Seems to be some bad feeling on this board towards Tim. Even if you don't like his comments regarding wild cards, I think everyone who supports british tennis should still have a certain amount of respect for his opinions and be willing to overlook if you disagree.

John, I disagree with what Tim said about WCs, as I have stated before I think it helps the British game to give WCs to British players, but Tim is still in my opinion a top 40 or 50 player and could still do well during the hard court season. Tim's tennis is a joy to watch and he is great for the game, why not give him WCs as he has struggled with injuries etc. Tim is also popular with the American media and so hopefully he will ask and be given at least one in Cincy.

I haven't noticed any bad feelings towards Tim on this board?
I am perplexed why he hasn't entered more of the tournaments he is still able to, instead of relying on receiving wild cards to higher-level tournaments. Surely it would be better to get a few wins under his belt, get some match practice and confidence, rather than relying on wc's (which he may not get) into tournaments with much harder draws.
Was there any suggestion Tim was unable to play in Newport? Because, as some of you on here said at the time it seemed a great chance to get some wins under his belt.
I think that Alex will be seeded in qualifying (based on 14 seeds) and as things stand will play either Giraldo, Zib, Gremelmayr, Fognini, Fleishman, Odesnik, Gambill, Carlsen, Soeda, Bopanaa or a Wild Card
Only needs to win 2 rounds to qualify so a great chance..
I was thinking that this morning. Given how many have been moved to the main draw...
Capdeville may or may not make it based on how well he does in Washington as well...
Capdeville probably won't make it, as he cannot get a special entry into the draw, so if he wins he will have to pull out of qualifying.
Even if he does lose, I'm not sure whether he has to be in Montrael before 9pm for the qualifying sign in deadline, or because there is an entry list, the sign-in doesn't apply
First post updated with current withdrawals, etc., and qualifying.
Andy hasn't withdrawn. . . yet. . . (fingers crossed)
Looks like Ancic may be back too.
He is supposed to be playing here, so I don't expect he will withdraw, as he probably would have done so by now if he definately wasn't ready to play
Melzer is the other one who may withdraw, as he was originally out for the season with his wrist injury, but the rumour is he is over it and will be back here
All of this is bad news for Boggo, as if those two both withdraw, then Del Potro makes the main draw which means there is 1 less player for him to worry about in qualies and would have a better chance of making it
