Hopefully more will sign up as going to make my way down to that tournament. Hopefully getting down for the Sunday Quallies then on Tues, Wed and the Sat and Sunday semis/finals.
I'll try doing running scores for anyone who wants them
Score updates would be great! Qualies will be very weak, which is good as it means more Brits.
I am a bit surprised that Bloomers is doing this. But if he picks good points from here and from Nottingham, he can get himself back into the top 180, so it's all right.
Hopefully Childs will get a direct entry. Then we could give wild cards to the younger players.
It'll be great to get score updates gazzpash I've never been to this challenger but I'm told that it's one of the nicest venues
I'm really pleased that Bloomers has gone for this instead of heading to the States early like last year. He's at his best on grass so it makes sense to try and rack up the points in the two challengers and he really needs it after dropping all those pts from Wimbledon. He had a really miserable time in the USA last year, didn't win many matches...August will be a tough month for him as the challengers before US Open qualies are really strong - Vancouver, Binghampton and Bronx and it's not his fav surface so best to make hay while he can
The field is really open, anyone could come through to win it. The main foreigners to watch out for will probably be Wessels who made an ATP final last week, Dupuis is always a threat on grass and Qureshi looked impressive in the qualies and against Childs. Norman's had a poor year so far so can't really see him winning.
Goodall has tons to defend this month having won Felixstowe, made the Manchester final and made Nottingham quarters...hopefully he can put "Lundgren-gate" behind him and get some wins...I don't think he's won a challenger match in 2007.
I have mixed feelings about who should get the wcs....if Childs gets in then Kasiri, May, Irwin, Slabba, Eaton...are the ones next in line who deserve wcs but on the other hand, I'd prefer to see all of them playing Frinton where they have a better chance of getting some pts..
I think that the juniors should play Frinton, fairly weakish field so good chance to get some wins
surely a good chance to pick up some point here! i guess rich seeding will slip down after his wimby points come off, but with no top 150 players there he surely has a great chance to go deep. the other too good maybe progress, i assume we will see a similar field at notts too.

Cox is going to do this, irrespective of whether he gets a wild card or has to qualify. Evans, Rice and Dyce are doing Frinton. Willis and Pauffley will be in Austria.
Slabba, Irwin and Kasiri are due to play in Frinton. My wild cards would go to Skupski (should be doing this as it's close to his home and he has played here in the past), Cox, May and someone else whom I can't decide upon at the moment.
Bloomers probably won't be seeded here as his ranking has shot down (while Bopanna and Quereshi's have gone the other way)...let's hope for a withdrawal or two.
Both Olejniczak and Niemienen are playing in Davis Cup so will pull out so Childs may just make it
gazzpash- hey mate, should be going myself...do you know if you have to buy tickets in advance from Tuesday onwards or is it ok just to turn up on the day and pay the £5 at the gate?
