The win over Cattaneo was an impressive result as Cattaneo is ranked about 100 places higher at 562 and had won their previous encounter in 3 sets last year.
Also, Olivia chipped the bone in her thumb a few weeks ago with a fall at Surbiton...it's really swollen but there's nothing the physios can do about it, it won't get any worse so she's having to play on with it and take loads of painkillers
Tough match, the Russian has a career best of 218 and made a 10K semi last week plus a couple of 25K quarters this year. However, this is one of the best venues on the tour apparently, in terms of facilities for the players so Olivia will be determined to stay a little longer. Those qualies wins were impressive so who knows !
After this Olivia is heading back to the UK for the 10Ks
