This was a nail-biting, stomach churning match to watch. Both players turned on a fine display and were never prepared to give an inch. It was nip and tuck all the way to the final ball. In the end I was sorry there had to be a loser and Moyà deserves full credit for his contribution to such a good contest. It looks as though Tim is last man standing again. Fingers crossed for him tomorrow.
I'm hoping the next match will be Thursday, as then (floods permitting) I should be following the match on Henman Hill.
My bus back last night was not until 11.30 so I managed to watch this match until the suspension - and frankly I was amazed it was left on so long. It was getting really dark. I watched the highlights show this morning and it is true, the cameras make it look much lighter than it really is. And it was so cold! I was muffled up in cagoule, hat and scarf and was still freezing!
But the atmosphere was absolute terrific. I feel really privileged to have been able to watch the first day's play of that match live.
