RE: Week 25 - Futures F2 (M) - Gausdal (NOR) 10K

R1: (Q) Ben Pritchard UNR v (1) Mohammad Ghareeb (KUW) WR 451
R1: Amadeus Fulford-Jones WR 1145 v (Q) Patrik Rosenholm (SWE) UNR

I think we would have got more out of this (i.e. someone in R2) had Ben got the unranked qualifier and Ammy the no. 1 seed ...

No reason why Amadeus can't win that match. Why do people take such delight in putting him down, he does win the odd match now and then. He's hardly Rob Dee-esque.

Great draw for Mozart, and this is definately a winnable match for him, and it would be great to see him pick up another ranking point. Pritchard isn't going to win though, which is a shame for him after qualifiying

No, not Rob Dee-esque, but his record this year is W 5 L 12 and 7 of those 12 losses were to lower-ranked and unranked players. He tends to pick up his points in places where most players prefer not to go (so good for him!) - his 5 ranking points come from South Africa (where Futures are weaker than you might expect), Botswana, Senegal, Namibia, Senegal & Mexico, the latter being the most impressive because he beat a higher-ranked player (WR 1111) to get that point.

I just think Ben's probably the better of the two of them, whatever their rankings say.

Never done anything special enough for me not to believe he's any good.

Doubles is another matter

So maybe my confidence in Mozart to win a little overplaced, but at least the scores are getting closer... then again, I predicted that Robert Dee would win a match this year, so why doesn't he get himself back into these futures qualifying events....

Mozart appears to be turning into a doubles specialist

I still think we would have got more out of this had Ben got the unranked qualifier and Ammy the no. 1 seed ... as it was, they won almost the same number of games in their respective matches.
