Wow, when I was there yesterday I watched most of Brendan Evans' match against the unranked Prescott. He was pretty impressive, massive serve, very aggressive etc. pretty much what you expect to see from most Americans these days. Great result for Ken, wonder if he can up his game further still and make this next one close.

Josh didn't play particularly well yesterday and Jonny was superb. So surprised how things are going now, but yesterday was indoors. Back on the grass now I assume which throws form a little I suppose, to have 2 different surfaces in 2 days.

I didn't see either Cox or Evans but I saw most of Dyce against Baker and Dyce was very impressive despite losing. Baker looked in good form, but was on the backfoot for most of the match. Good defense and great aggressive tennis from Dyce. Baker was just too good in the end though, too consistent. Great standard of tennis in that match.

They are playing on grass today and not indoors.

Bad news for the Brits... Vacek def. Sa, so that means that Andre Sa will be a lucky loser ahead of Marray and Baker... Marray needs at least 2 withdrawals (4 if Skupski wins), and Baker will need 2 withdrawals if he doesn't win, so we may only have 4 Brits in the draw

Qualifiers will play either Nicolas Lapentti (clay courter, but a former Wimbledon QF), Gabashvilli, Delic or Del Potro.... probably Gabashvilli or Lapentti would be the draw that you want, but there are no easy matches in R1 for Josh

In the 1st set, Jamie won just 1/21 points on the Gucci serve! In the 2nd though, he's won 11/22 in two very long Gucci service games and is a break up! He has consolidated the break by holding serve to love too. smile.gif

FQR: (q5) Jamie Baker WR 247 v (q1) Chris Guccione (AUS) WR 98 - 3-6 4-1*

Gimelstob vs. Skupski is now on the scoreboard, so I guess that will be starting soon. I'd love Ken to get the win, but I see him losing quite easily after the effort he put in earlier

Does anyone know anything about Ken though, as I had never heard of him before this week

8 points in a row for Jamie - 0-30 on the next Gucci serve.

Yes, FD, we could have done without Vacek beating Sa from a LL point of view.

He's been playing on the US college circuit for the last couple of years, very successfully. He comes home to Liverpool to play in the Liverpool International exhibition tournament every year too.

I'll try to find out some more.
