A bad day in Nottingham, apart from Tigger, who put in a good performance. I know all the rest were ranked below their opponents, but this is a grass court event with home advantage, so it's very sad that none of them even managed to win a set.
Bloomers suffered from yet another dire draw of course, but even so, just two games against the aging Bjorkman is worse than I thought he would do, though in fairness JoBjo has won this tournament twice and reached the Final only last year.
Josh and Jamie at least managed to be competitive in their 1st sets, but then fell away. However, the biggest disaster of the day though has to be Boggo - yes, GGL is more than the 'just a clay courter' that some of us made him out to be, but to be 5-1 up in the tiebreak, get pulled back, then miss 7 or 8 set points and hand the tiebreak to your opponent 15-13 on his second match point with a double fault really takes some doing!
R2: (WC) Tim Henman WR 78 v (2) Dmitry Tursunov (RUS) WR 24
Tigger has a 1-4 record against Tursunov, his only win against him was on grass at Queen's last year, when the bouncy tiger was in much better form than he is now.

From someone who was at the Bloomers-Bjorko match, slightly paraphrased:
Richard's 1st set was better than the score suggests, but he lost his cool a bit in the 2nd and went down a bit too easily. Lundgren said Bjorkman was playing very good tennis though.

buy your tickets online before you go. Link for tickets on official website.
I bought my ticket online 7.30am yesterday morning and printed my receipt, arrived about 11.30, walked past the 300 yard long queue stretching into the car park and arrived at the 'tickets for collection' window with about four people in front of me!
Booty and Stretch ate 4-1 up in the first. Calleri/Lapentti serving.
(by the way - what a line- up on Center court today: Booty & Stretch, then Henman, then Gasquet!! - and there's tennis on three out ofsix sports channels, but not one of them is in Nottingham - Sky are in Liverpool, I ask you!)
