Tim finally holds, hopefully that was the last of his concentration lapses. leads 4-3. A great time to break don't you think?!

4 all. Tim came very close to breaking Russell then but didn't quite manage it. Now for a solid hold please.

Yay Tim! A precious 15 points at least. Can he get revenge on Dima, though? please.gifpray.gif

I forgot Bloomers was still to play - but he has just lost the first set 6-2cry

ouch bloomers got bagled! i wonder if he was ok? 62 60

so only timmy boy through, and he sounds like he was lucky. boggo baker and goodall all out too. very poor day at nottignham, which normaly works well for us.
Boggo said the courts were playing slow. it seems every year the grass gets slower!

Poor showing on the whole for the Brits today... Baker did okay for the first set, but never got a look at the Del Potro serve. Goodall should have won the first set when he was a break up, and should really have beaten Gabashvilli. Bloomers threw in a shocker against Bjorkman, and he has had an awful grass court season, apart from the Boggo win. Bogdanovic should have won as well... losing 7 set points in the tie break (although 4 were on the GGL serve, but he was 5-1 up) Pity he couldn't get a first serve in on any of the set points, but the double fault to lose the match was poor

At least Tim got a win, but he seemed to struggle as well, and will get thrashed by Tursunov tomorrow

As has been said a big disappointment today. really thought we might get a couple through but instead only Tim. Boggo especially must see it as a missed opportunity. As expected Baker struggled with the Del Potro server despite suggestions it was a weak point. I think I checked at one point in the 2nd set and he had won something like 97% on first serve!!!

Glad that at least Goodall and Baker have the qualifying points to mean it wasn't a total waste but had high hopes and just hope it isn't a sign of things to come at Wimbledon.

A poor showing in the singles, undoubtedly, but not a complete washout in the doubles:  great win for Goody & Hutch against the 4th seeds, Bupathi & Gimelstob, 5-7 6-4 10-8! clap.gif  They're back in action tomorrow, against Clément & Grosjean, in the final match on Court 1, while Booty & Stretch get the show on the road against Calleri & Lapentti at 11.30 on Centre.  Up & at 'em boys... pray.gif

Got it in one! thumbsup.gif  I realised the week before last that the ATP site often showed the next day's OoP before the Surbiton site had it, so if it's not on a tournament site when I expect it to be, that's always my next port of call! wink  I find any LTA site incredibly frustrating, including the main one & especially if there's no live scoreboard, because all that happens when you click on the "Results" tab, as I'm sure you know, is that you're redirected to the bloody.pdf draw sheets, which are never updated until the end of the day ! furious
