Still Tim's match to come, though. The names are on the scoreboard now. Unfortunately I won't be able to follow it live, so C'mon Timeeeee! Win a match for goodness' sake.
Tim's started out great already up a double break leading 3-0....can he avoid his usual trick of then losing the first set?
Also, Sheddie a couple of pages back you said all Brit hopes rest on Henman which is a little harsh on Bloomers. I know he has a tough match but surely he deserves a mention?!
Shame for Boggo, i think perhaps in the elation of last week we gave Garcia-Lopez less credit than he deserves and Boggo more progress than he's made. I think Boggo is without doubt heading in the right direction but I suppose we shouldn't expect it to be an instantaneous transformation. I still think this could be his year at Wimbers hopefully he gets a good draw.
As for Josh and Jamie, in the grand scheme of things neither were terrible loses, and if the tables were turned and it was a Brit playing a qualifier 100 places below him we'd be scandalised if he lost so. But it's still disappointing
Tim has now held serve and leads 4-0.

Russell holds for the first time, 4-1 to Henman. Still a double break but with Tim I always get nervous at the end of a set even so far ahead. I just hope he can hold twice!

It wouldn't be Tim without a bit of a rollercoaster so in true Henman style he was broken first game of the second set
Hopefully that's the only glitch of the match though because he's just broken back for 1-1
The last two serves the scoreboard has randomly told me the serve speed for Russell and he's only serving at around 95mph, which I guess shows how Tim's been able to break him so often!

Henman at 3-3 now. both players holding pretty easily...as I say that Tim has a moment and serves 2 double faults in a game, then nets a ball at 40-30. Humph, deuce. Get your concentration back please Tim.
