Simon Childs double-bagelled Avakian in qualifying, he was supposed to be playing Cerretani.

I wonder if they've got the name wrong or if Carretani pulled out and Avakian got the LL spot, or if the result is complete fiction?

Wronski is a Polish name.

You would recognise it immediately if you know your Harry Potter.

Yeah Wronski is British, he's an unranked qualifier, 20 years old, had a couple of pts few years ago. Great win considering that Fernandez is 900ish

It's a fantastic resource for a futures, wonder if they'll do some match reports

Avekian must have got in as a LL, Childs wouldn't have beaten Cerretani on fast courts 1 and 2....might have beaten him but not that comfortably as Cerretani has a big serve. Pretty good chance for Simon to do some damage here, courts will really suit his game

What on earth happened to Kasiri ?? and on astroturf too ! Sadecky's 800ish, plays mostly on clay and has only won a handful of matches since Feb...hope it wasn't a recurrence of the shoulder injury for Miles

Horrible draw for Matt Smith too. Don't think he has much chance against Niland

It could definately have been a lot, lot better....however he did win their previous encounter 6-2, 7-5, and he did well in this tourney last yr, making the semis...Niland's just very, very solid, no big weapons...Matt can beat him if he plays a solid match

I wonder why Matt didnt enter the playoff

Well done Max Jones for that win in Ireland today - may it be the start of something good.
