No Baker in the qualies cry.gif Strange, he's not entered Lexington either. Hope he's not injured as it's just a training week. I guess he'll be heading to Canada next

Baker appears in Lexington qualies, which is probably a smart move having seen the quality of the field (I think Amadeus would have only just missed a seeding here)

A bit surprised not to see Auckland have another go at qualifying as he would have been seeded again, so he definately could have made the main draw with a bit of luck here

Doubles draw:

Booty and Stretch v Igor Kunitsyn (Rus) & Hyung-Taik Lee (Kor)

Aucks and Phillips v Lipsky and Martin (US)

This is a scratch pairing which should favour Booty and Stretch. Kunitsyn has been having a great year though in doubles. The big Russian and his partner Delic knocked out British no 2 James Auckland in rd1 of LA last week, the week before he made the final of Newport and he also made the quarters of the French. Huge serve but not the best of returners, hopefully something the no 2 seeds can exploit. Lee's been struggling in doubles lately, with 5 straight losses going into this tournament. However, his singles form has been on the up, he made the semis in LA losing to Blake.

I guess Huss must be injured or something. Tripp Phillips is a veteran doubles specialist, currently ranked 47. They've drawn the short straw in this tourney, Lipsky and Martin are currently in the LA final !

Huss is playing with Spadea, so maybe they had to split in order to make sure they got DE here?

Bootie and Murray probably should win their opener here, but they will have to play better than they did last week.

Not looking so good for Auckland, as that will be a very tough first round match, especially as he is playing with a new partner

Great win ! Kunitsyn and Lee made the stronger start, broke to lead 2-1. However, from 2-3, Booray won 4 straight games, breaking twice, to take the set.

They broke again to lead 2-1 in the 2nd, never looked back from there...holding to take it 3 and 4

Will try to get some quotes on the match from Booty

I'm gonna start it. I think sadly it will be a pretty quick loss for Aucks as Lipsky/Martin are going places.
