I got back home, switched on the telly and Roddick was being interviewed after winning, "oh well, I hope it was close" I thought...then realised Roddick was talking about Hawk Eye and being a Match Point down!! I was soo happy I'm going to get to watch the match in a few days time (the wonders of dvd recorders and the Royal Mail!) and am really looking forward to it, sounds like Alex did marvelously and absolutely didn't throw it away just that Roddick's serve was firing on all cylinders. Roddick seemed immensely pleased to be through that match so all credit to Alex I say
Has Boggo got entry/a wildcard to Nottingham? I think he could really go far there. And playing as he seems to be at the moment nothing but a rubbish draw (eg Fed round 1) can stop him getting through a couple of rounds at Wimby I reckon.

Alex didnt know on nottingham this monring (he might now tho) i suspect he will get one, and again with a decnt draw he can hopefulyl do well. he normally plays well at nottingham.
if you have eurosport thyemight be re showing it at some point. they have done that with a few matches.

Guess who's picture is front page on the ATP!!! http://www.atptennis.com/1/en/home/ Admittedly it's about Roddick winning and they couldn't even be bothered to link Alex's name to his ATP profile but he is mentioned by name and in a good light,

I watched the match, and i thought Boggo player very well against a top 5 player. it was difficult for him to get into roddick's serve. but overall i really enjoyed the match! if he continues to play like that, then top 50 would be his next target providing he breaks the top 100 in the next few weeks.
also, in the match, when it was 3-3 in the tiebreak, before the next point was awarded to boggo, i think i lipread what roddick said about the high volley from boggo which roddick never thought would happen, i think he sed thats f******g amazing, nice compliment!
i think roddick even had to resort to a bit of gamesmanship out there. sayign to boggo to think about who he was palyign an what eh was achiving, then making the ball girl move to hold alex up. he was really rattled by alex

Outstanding effort from Boggo really pleased and just hope it is the sign that things are on the up for him. Always been a fear that he would struggle against the top players but to take Roddick all the way on grass is outstanding.
I really hope Alex can build on that type of performance because there's a lot he can take away from that match in the positive column.
In the past sometimes when it's been going his way his focus has wandered, and sometimes when it's gone against him he's let it get away very quickly.
He did neither today - he handled the nerves, the occasion and the opponent extremely well, and it boiled down to one difficult point in the breaker and one poor service game.
Other than that he was tremendous from the start until the end and against anyone lesser than Andy Roddick on grass that probably would have been enough to get him through.
He should be very proud of his efforts today. He didn't get the win but he did just about everything else except it, and I hope he proved something to himself.
