Aced the first one, another missed volley by henners and he's out, well he should have beaten Cillic as he was pretty dross, but henners looked like he lacked aggression
Oh dear, that was a disaster. Flashes of brilliance were too few and far between; Cilic is good, but erratic, and on a good day Tim would have slaughtered him.
If he doesn't have a good run at Wimbledon, I fear he may be forced into retirement whether he wants to or not - he will not be ranked high enough to get into ATP tournaments. But he only has 35 points (2nd round) to defend there, so there is still some hope. . .
Exactly what I thought. It's a shame but if he doesn't reach 3rd round at least at Wimbledon I can't see him carrying on anymore. He'll lose too many points with this loss and he's reliant on a good draw at Wimbledon.
He is playing in Nottingham next week and hopefully he will have a good run there....I thought he'd get his 500 win by or during Wimbledon, now I just want him to get it....but I believe what he says when he says he is hitting the ball well in practice, hopefully he will win next week and go from there....
I am already mourning the day he leaves the game though....I have loved following him over the years and just wish he & Greg had had more impact on the British game and inspired more young players to make the break through or pick up a raquet....not his/their fault, but still....wish it had happened.
