Alex loses 6-2, 1-6, 6-1....really poor from him, tbh...case of missed chances...he had 12 bps and only converted 2 which isn't good enough really, he's a much better player than Melo. If he'd got one of those 3 bps at the start of the 3rd, it would have been a different story

So far, Brits through are:

May (bt fellow-Brit Del)
Childs (bt fellow-Brit Cox)

... plus Marray is well ahead 6-4 4-2* and Ward is a set up against Evans 6-4

Brits out are:

Goodall (l to Tsonga)
Del (l to May)
Cox (l to Childs)
Slabba (l to Melo)
Eaton (l to Muller)
Atkinson (thrashed by Nielsen)

... plus:

- Evans is a set down against Ward
- Brewer is a long way behind against Marray 4-6 *2-4
- Rice is a set down to Arthurs but holding his own in the 2nd 3-2*
- Bammy is a set down to Healey but holding his own in the 2nd 3-3

So unless Rice or Bammy can turn things around, the only GB winners are going to be those who beat other Brits. ashamed

Yes, a real pity. What is it about Brits called Alex and not being able to get their heads together? They haven't even got the excuse of having been born here either! wink

Marray wins 4 & 2 v Brewer

Arthurs turned up the heat on Rice at the end of the 2nd set and beat him 2 & 4 cry - not bad though from the young Brit smile

Marray will play Arthurs in QR2 - hopefully Rice has softened the Aussie up a bit!

Childs will play Bastl, not impossible.

May will play Kuznetsov, the guy Alex beat in Surby R1.

One all-Brit match, Irwin v Rushby, hasn't started yet. Winner to play Tsonga though, so not a tempting prospect, except that it will be JWT's 3rd match of the day.

Hopefully all this rubbish I'm writing will be useful later to anyone who's not able to follow the live scores at the moment and wants to know about the ups and downs of the day!

Evans 3-0 up in the 2nd against Ward, making a fight of it.

Bammy 30-30 as Healey serves for the match. Can he break back?

Not much going on, so I'll take a break:

Evans-Ward 4-6 3-2* (Ward has broken back)

Irwin-Rushby yet to start.

where did you find that? it's not on the livescore or results page. I'm not saying I don't believe you, just curious as to where it's gone!

Ward took the final set 6-1, good effort from Evans though.
