Boggo's Live Ranking during Week 22 (Roland Garros)

The New table is posted here (on britishtennis.net)

Alex is still 2 places up on his career high, at 110 as teh week begins.

However, when you're at 110 on the first day of a Grand Slam, there will be a lot of players in that tournament in the places behind you: There are eight on his table.

Falla, Hajek and Di Mauro are direct entries; Andreev has a protected ranking; Capdeville and Brzezicki qualified, while Luczak and Patience get wildcards.

Fingers crossed that no more than one overtakes during the next week.

Over to Bethan to tell us about the threats.

Rob's already given us who is in RG behind Alex. Oh those, Capdeville, Patience, Luczak, and Andreev are the only ones who can overtake in the first round.

I'll give more detail on Tuesday (I'm too busy till then but round 1 will still be playing so that's all you need to know at the moment.)

Let's get these four out nice and quickly and then start worrying about the rest of the tournament!

Bad news: Boggo has 2 new threats in Giraldo and Vicente who enter the draw as Lucky Losers cry.gifGiraldo just needs one win to overtake hmm.gif

Good News: One of these two becomes the first threat to be knocked out: Vicente lost in round 1 smile.gif He's the first Lucky Loser to lose in Rd 1 of a Grand Slam or Masters Series since the new points system was introduced. My re4ading of the rules says that he gets his 5 points for making the draw plus his 8 points for reaching the qualifying round......

What do y'all think?

Over to Bethan:  who do we stick our pins into tomorrow?

Two more threats who can overtake today:

Luczak is a set up against that master of Clay- Court Tennis, Bjorkman. hmm.gif

Giraldo plays Djokovic on court 1 after the Mayer- Mathieu match:

Luczak blew a 2 set lead against Bjorkman who gets his first win on the surface since 2004 (against fellow clay court master Taylor Dent)

Giraldo is 2 sets to love down against Djokovic, so looking good for him to go out

Hajek and Brezezcki both win, and both move within another win of going past Boggo

Economidis and Roger- Vasselin can overtake today.

Eco man has lost the first set to Robredo, but is a break up in the second....

R-V plays Stepanek last up on court 2.

One win away from overtaking Alex and playing tomorrow: Hajek, Brzezicki, Montcourt.

So end of tomorrow and the worst case for Alex is 115. cry.gif

In terms of the whole week(that's JUST week 22):
best case: 113
worst case: 120
