The New Table is posted here (on britishtennis.net)

It could yet be a good week for Andy - despite the injury.

He starts the week by gaining three places to 8, as Robredo (4th rd), Ljubicic (sf) and Haas (3rd rd) drop behind him. 

Davydenko also drops places: he is defending a Quarter Final place.


Haas is also out ofaction, so Andy will stay above him.

Over to Bethan to tell us who the threats are!

As Rob has said, Andy gained places at the start of the week. He will end the week ahead of Tommy Haas (who isn't playing either). However where he is in the rankings is yet to be decided.

Players who can overtake by winning rd1: no one

Players who can overtake by winning rd2: no one

Players who can overtake by winning rd3: Robredo.

Players who can overtake by winning rd4: Berdych, Gasquet.

Players who can overtake by winning the qf: Ljubicic, Ferrer, Youzhny,

Players who can overtake by winning the sf: Hewitt

Players who can overtake by winning the f: Baghdatis, Ferrero, Canas, Chela, Nieminen, Safin.

Best case: 8
Worst case: 15

I think andy should finish in the top 10 after RG. I can only see Robredo and maybe gasquet overtaking.

Gasquet is apparently complaining of a very nasty blister on his right hand, so I doubt if he will go far into the tournament.

Now, where did I put my book of voodoo spells. . .
