Both were broken twice and they managed to win 9 return points.
Wasn't their surface or their day.
Ah well, at least they got two decent wins under their combined belts this time. Do we know what effect that will have on their ranking (& their chances of direct entry at RG & in SW19)?
shows their rankings for Monday: Looking like 41 and 43. Not sure what that means for Roland Garros and Wimbles. Looking at last year's draw, there were pairings such as Levinsky and Lindstedt which had a combined ranking around 80......
I'm gutted! I thought after their triumph in round 1 they were beginning to come to terms with the red stuff. I did think the match would be closer than it turned out to be but probably the Czech's being more experienced on clay, were always going to have the edge. I certainly hope they get into RG otherwise there will be little to look forward to from a Brit prospective.

(I'm getting a bit cheesed off with seeing Liverpool losing to Milan...) I, too, had hoped for better this week, but I also think we're all tending to lose sight of the fact that Booty & Stretch are still a relatively inexperienced pairing after hooking up again earlier in the year. It's easy enough to do, given their incredible success on the US hard courts in February/March. Unless I'm much mistaken, however, this is their first season together on the red stuff. Here's hoping they're learning as they go along - & that they get back to their title-winning ways on the green stuff...
