I have a reporter going tomorrow for qualies, seagull is going on Mon, might be some others going during the week plus Nigel will give us info on the womens matches all week !
plus for John and I....getty images are covering the event as usual so should be plenty of pics of Webley-wobbly....sadly Rachael Hall won't be there despite my email requesting a wc for her
It's scandalous that the LTA took the retrograde step of stopping live scoring from Surbiton a year or two ago when what they should be doing is extending it to all UK Challengers.
As for the the DA/WC situation, Drew's list agrees with my guesses - I was assuming that Kasiri and Flan were still injured and that Rushby would get the nod over Slabba, being 11 places ahead of him on the GB list. All the other candidates are either retired, known to be injured or committed elsewhere.
The last two players on that list are the top two seeds in qualifying (in reverse order), so unless Vemic and Burgsmuller couldn't be bothered to go over unless they got DAs, it's possible that this implies that both Baker and Marray scraped DAs at the last moment.
In that case, it's anyone's guess who got their WCs - next in line (unless someone like Blake, Ward, Smith or Searle has managed to extract themselves from a Future) would be Slabba and Miotto, the only remaining possibilities in the GB top 30.

That assumes that Wobbly-Smith will win a match or two and as for the request for a Rachel Hall WC, there goes any credibility BT.net may have with the LTA.

Scrap my theory about Vemic and Burgsmuller - they were 1st Alts at Furth and Sassuolo respectively, so they've probably gone to those tournaments and scraped DAs - indeed, Burgsmuller probably has a WC at Furth anyway.

So If Delgy got a singles qualies wildcard...does that mean he's playing doubles with Auckland? Or has he got himself another partner as Aucks sticks with Huss? Will be interested to find out

Tough draw for a lot of the Brits, but some of them have a chance of winning a few rounds
Goodall has a tough draw, as with Guccione's serve he is always going to be tough to beat on grass. He needs to find some of his form from last year to have a chance their
Bloomers should beat Thornley, as he is the much better player between the two. Unlucky for him to face Boggo in the next round... but a very good chance for Boggo to make a good run on the grass. Boggo should get past Kuznetzov, then Bloomers, and Guccione's game gives Boggo a chance, because he does well against the serve volleyers. Boggo could make the final here, as there is no-one in the top quarter with a massive grass court pedigree
Rushby has a shot against Giraldo, but the colombian is probably good enough to sneak through in 3
Marray/Baker will be a good match, and a very tough one to call... maybe Baker having played more matches will be enough to win, but Marray has a much better grass game
Corrie has a shot against Muller, as he is totally out of form, but he did beat Nadal at Wimbledon a couple of years back, so can play on grass
Childs should beat Healey, but with him, you never know what will happen
i think you cant over look Sam Q, although we havent seen him on grass b4, he is a huge server and on fire atm. he handed it to boggo in las vegas as well.
its a shame for alex and bloomers to meet in the 2nd round, but if they both make it (which they should) then i think alex will just edge it, he normally plays well against other brits. although it would be a brilliant chance for bloomers, i am sure he would love a shot against alex.
i'm not sure if i see any of the others wining to be honest. baker/marray very tough to call. if jonny serve isnt working then he could be in serious trouble tho.

PARIS -- There is a very strong chance that Andy Roddick, hungry for matches before Wimbledon, will play doubles only at the Challenger tournament in Surbiton, England, which begins Monday.
Roddick would play with Robby Ginepri, with whom he has twice paired for a 2-2 record. The last time they played together was in Rome in 2006, where they won a round.
It would be Roddick's first match in a Challenger, which is the minor leagues of pro tennis, since April of 2001, when he played singles and doubles (Paul Goldstein) on clay in Bermuda. He lost second round in boh singles and doubles there.
It's unusual for a top 10 to play a Challenger, but Roddick, whose clay season was shortened by injury, needs matches before Wimbledon and he got in only one match at the French, where he and eight other U.S. men went out in the first round.
Though it's only doubles, it will give him a jump start on the grass court season and a chance to do some serve-and-volleying.
Surbiton is just south of London. The following week Roddick would be in London for the Queen's tournament, where he has had great success. Roddick also played doubles two weeks ago, with Amer Delic, at Poertschach, Austria, where they won two rounds before giving a walkover in the semis.

Roddick playing doubles could be interesting, and may give the tournament a bit more interest
What's the betting on the BBC reporting that Roddick has a won a match in the doubles here, but then they make no mention of a Bogdanovic title, or Auckland/Delgado reaching a final or something like that?
QR1: Neil Bamford WR 862 lost to Travis Parrott (USA) UNR by 2 & 4 QR1: Ben Pritchard UNR beat Eric Butorac (USA) UNR by 3 & 4 - excellent result! Day 1 of qualifying saw a shocker of a loss for Aucks on his return to singles play, but a great return to form by Jim May, who took advantage of the surface to beat a player ranked over 1200 places above him! (grin) Ben Pritchard did well to beat Booty, I think.
R1 Q2: Josh Goodall WR 225 v (4) Chris Guccione (AUS) WR 99 R1 Q2: Richard Bloomfield WR 189 v (WC) Sean Thornley WR 1348 R1 Q2: Alex Bogdanovic WR 112 v Alex Kuznetsov (USA) WR 169 (winner to play the winner of the match above) R1 Q3: (WC) Tom Rushby WR 651 v (8) Santiago Giraldo (COL) WR 123 R1 Q3: Jamie Baker WR 252 v Jonny Marray WR 258 (winner to play the winner of the match above) R1 Q3: (WC) Edward Corrie WR 1130 v Gilles Muller (LUX) WR 156 R1 Q4: (WC) Lee Childs WR 406 v Nathan Healey (AUS) WR 171
Terrible draw for Josh and at most one out of Boggo and Bloomers can reach the QFs too. :( Baker v Marray is not an ideal match-up either, though better for either of them than playing one of the top seeds. Whoever wins could have chances against clay-courter Giraldo - if Tom doesn't get him first!
On Monday, the FQR matches all take place at 11.00 BST, with the main draw starting on Tuesday.
