not the best results today. Well done to Bloomers, I hope he can go far now he can make up a lot of places this week if he goes deep so down with Guccione! Shame for the rest really, Childs and May appear to have done themselves proud but I had hoped Baker would win and Boggo really should have beaten Bloomers.

Nothing against the Bogster (quite the opposite, and I wish the two of them hadn't had to meet in R2), I just like Richard's attitude, the quiet but strong thing - e.g. when he had lots of points to defend last autumn, did he crack under the strain like most Brits? No, he defended them all a week or two early. Hopefully this is the start of something similar.
To be fair, Boggo's got a lot better at handling the pressure of lots of points to defend too as he proved this winter.
Also, while Richard may not have quite the flair of Boggo (I haven't actually watched either of them enough to know), I think he's probably doing a better job (thus far, at least) of making the most of his ability, and that's something I have a lot of respect for.
I was also going to add that any tennis player unlucky enough to see one of my limericks about them deserves my support, but thanks to you I can't separate them that way either!

Another bad result for baker, on current form over the last 2-3 months he does not deserve the final wildcard for queens.
i kinda agree, today was a bit dissapointing. but who else would deserve the 3rd? goodall has not been brill either i think, so then you are looking at marray (who baker bt) and childs.

Still think over time goodall has more potential than baker and will come good one day, just remember last year he did qualify for 2 slams so he deserves the wildcard i think.
yeah, ok to josh then. but strange that queens havent annouced it if the have decided. maybe they were waiting to see hw things went today at surbs. i think rich and bogg were always going to get the other 2 anyhows.
didnt they do this last year?, kept the last one quite till last minuite. cant take too much longer tho, guess just waiting in case a big name suddenly wants one.

Great win for Richard but under the circumstances a bit worrying, especially seeng the picture of Richard spread flat during the Thornley match on the Surbiton website. Hope he doesnt 'mess up' for the grass season.
