The field is incredibly strong this year with Delic, Querrey, Karlovic, Philippoussis, Guccione, Muller and Zverev, all capable of beating top 50 players on grass.


My wild cards would go to -

Miles Kasiri

the field is always strong, thats why they havent upgraded it.
cant belive delic is ranked 65 now! boggo has beaten him twice this year!

Yeah, rankings wise it's always strong, but there's probably a lot more depth in this year's field than last year's one (or so I think).

Querrey will be top 10 someday plus Zverev and Haase will go up a lot, too. Plus there's Karlovic, who can beat everyone on grass barring (maybe) Federer.



Getting a seeding here or not doesn't count much for Boggo (unless he draws Karlovic or Querrey in round one), except perhaps a psychological boost . Too many good grass players out there!

Don't underestimate Giraldo as he is one of the game's rising stars - just 19 and about to crack the top 100.

ouch @ that field....agree about Kasiri he would be a good choice for a wc.

No easy draws but on grass, Boggo and Bloomers could beat a lot of those players. Giraldo is up and coming but likely to be a mug on grass....Kuznetsov, Healey, Stakhovsly and Bozoljac would also be decent draws....

What did the qualies cut extend down to last year ?? Any thoughts on those wcs ?

Arks why do you think Karlovic would beat Federer on grass ? confused.gif That just won't happen, even if Ivo gets it to tiebreaks, Federer's still so much better from the baseline he's gonna win them as long as he gets the ball back in play a few times...Ivo isn't gonna be able to hit aces every service pt. He's got a decent forehand now but the backhand is still pretty rubbish by top 100 standards ! Agree with what the Cabbage says. Boggo beat Ivo 6-7, 7-6, 7-6 at Surbiton in 2003, a few weeks before Ivo beat Hewitt at Wimby !

yeah can't really see karlovic troubling the fed on grass... this is a man who hasn't lost on grass for like 4 years.  karlovic is a good player on the green stuff but would have prob won wimbledon by now if he culd realistically challenge the fed!

he may be the man to beat at surbiton tho!
