Week 20 - Futures F2(M) - Syros, Greece

Semifinals
(3)Lee Childs/Edward Corrie (GBR) d. (1)Ian Flanagan/Tom Rushby (GBR) 6-4 4-1 ret.
Iain Atkinson/Sean Thornley (GBR) d. (4)Rafael Arevalo/Komlavi Loglo (ESA/TOG) 6-3 6-2

Its an all British final!

Hope Rushby and not Flanagan retired just so the singles semi is at least competitive.

Nope. Just three of them played during the entire year. cry.gif So the one that'll be played next week is the last one.

Hopefully the Ecoman and Mazarakis will somehow crack the top 100 and Greece will be awarded with a Challenger. please.gif

I'm somewhat embarrassed that I should be making my maiden post (I've been a silent reader of this board for quite some time) purely to point out an error ashamed, but Greece is two hours ahead of the UK, summer & winter, so, assuming it wasn't raining on Syros (wink), the singles semis would have kicked off at 09.00 BST & the doubles final, therefore, not before noon our time...

Don't feel embarrassed!
I had assumed that Greece was (like most of Europe) +1hr compared with the UK. What makes it worse is that I've even got a world time zones website set as a favourite, but didn't bother to check it! Doh!

A British double is guarenteed this week then, which is a brilliant acheivement for the lads, and hopefully they can take some confidence from this into the tournament next week, and then into the rest of the year

Hope Flan is okay. pray.gif

Shame about James, but Lee deserves some success. Hopefully Miles will take the title.
