Brilliant results today though I'm not sure what happened to Tom - his opponent beat a player in the 900s in R1 and it wasn't nearly as one-sided as this.
QF draw:
QF: Miles Kasiri WR 1111 v Massimo Capone (ITA) WR 1092 QF: Ian Flanagan WR 871 v Richard Irwin WR 883 QF: (7) James Ward WR 767 v Oscar Sabate-Bretos (ESP) WR 1111 QF: (2) Lee Childs WR 431 v (Q) Idan Mark (ISR) WR 1111
I wonder when is the last time we had 5 of the 8 quarter-finalists in an overseas Future! None of the non-Brits are ranked in the top 1000 either!
On Thursday, Lee, Miles & the all-GB QF are 1st on court at 09.00 BST, with James following the first match to finish.

That'll take him back into the top 1000....he aims to be top 500 by the end of the year, definately an achievable goal...he's had some great results so far in 2007, beating a fair few top 700 players. Along with James Ward and Morgan Phillips, he's probably the Brit most likely to be next to break top 400
Are you forgetting Miles made the final last week? Miles has 5 points on the current ranking list. 8 points for making the final last week is 13. That would already put him around the 850 mark. 2 for making the quarters this week is 15, which is almost up to 800! Another win here would place him close to the 750 mark.

Miles has got a clear run of no points to defend for the rest of the year now. Given that he dropped outside the top 1500 in feb he has done extremely well to knock on the top 800. I think Kasiri looks like being well in the running for being the most improved british player of the year (based on ranking movement).

The most quarter-finalists in an overseas tournament since 2002 is four. Which has happened twice - last week (Kasiri, Irwin,Thornley & Eaton) & the 2004 Greece F1 (Banks, Childs, Marray & Delgado).
We've only twice had 3 semi-finalists an overseas tournament since 2002. In the 2006 Greece F3 (Baker, Goodall, Bamford) & in a 2004 Indian satellite (Goodall, Irwin & Brewer).
The Brits are having a great couple of weeks in the sun, it's a real tonic what with Andy's injury and Boggo/Bloomer's troubles. 4 Brits in the semis would be amazing!
