Andy's Live Ranking During Week 19 (AMS Rome)

The New Table is posted here (on britishtennis.net)

Gonzalez and Ancic drop behind Robredo and Ferrer respectively, defending quarter- final places from last year.

Everyone on the table except Ancic is in action this week.

Winning the title could get Andy as high as WR 6.  A first round win could get him past Blake to 9.

Haas, Berdych, Gasquet and Ferrer can overtake this week. Haas just needs a first round win.

Bethan will, I'm sure let us know the permutations and who to watch out for when they start playing.

I'll do what ifs/that day stuff for all the rankings threads sometime tomorrow morning, I haven't quite finished my table and probs won't get it done now until after I've finished sorting the pick 'em stuff.

Only four players (Haas, Berdych, Gasquet, Ferrer) can overtake Andy this week and none of them are playing today. However Andy is.

What if...
(This is done without looking at the draw yet so the worst cases may not be as low as they are, I'll look at some point and change it accordingly.)

...Andy were to win AMS Rome? He would have 2615 points. He would definitely overtake Ljubicic and Blake. He could overtake Robredo(sf), Gonzalez(sf). He could be overtaken by no one.
Best case: 6
Worst case: 8

...Andy were to lose in the final of AMS Rome? He would have 2465 points. He would definitely overtake nobody. He could overtake
Gonzalez(rd3), Ljubicic (f) and Blake (f). He could be overtaken by Haas (w).
Best case: 7
Worst case: 11

...Andy were to lose in the sf of AMS Rome? He would have 2340 points. He would definitely overtake nobody. He could overtake Ljubicic (qf) and Blake (sf). He could be overtaken by Haas (f) and Berdych (w).
Best case: 8
Worst case: 12

...Andy were to lose in the qf of AMS Rome? He would have 2240 points. He would definitely overtake nobody. He could overtake Ljubicic (rd1) and Blake (qf). He could be overtaken by Haas (sf), Berdych (f) and Gasquet (w).

...Andy were to lose in rd3 of AMS Rome? He would have 2190 points. He would definitely overtake nobody. He could overtake Blake (rd3). He could be overtaken by Haas (qf), Berdych (f), Gasquet (w) and Ferrer (w).
Best case: 9
Worst case: 13

...Andy were to lose in rd2 of AMS Rome? He would have 2150 points. He would definitely overtake nobody. He could overtake Blake (rd1).He could be overtaken by Haas (rd3), Berdych (f), Gasquet (f) and Ferrer (w).

The Updated Table is posted here (on britishtennis.net)

Only Andy played today.

Now that he's out, I guess it's time to start work on those wax dolls of Tommy Haas, or this might be the last time we see Andy in the top 10 for a while furious.gif

Wow:

The combined power of the bt.net coven and Count Duckula strikes again:

R Stepanek bt.  T Haas  6-3 3-2 ret..

I hope Tommy's OK - a bit less heavy- handed with the pins next time, ladies!

Andy's safe at 10 for another day or so w00t.gif

Can't believe Haas has kept Andy at #10 - AGAIN - I feel bad for him. How many more times must we thank him? smile.gif

Hope Haas is OK.

Blake and Ljuby kindly lose and fail to get further away from Andy smile.gif

Berdych is the only threat left and he must get to and pass the Fed before overtaking so masterful inactivity pays dividends once again by the looks of things.
